The most important question before choosing any clinic. Here is the complete list, item by item — no vague language.
An advertised price of £800 or $1,000 can become £2,800 or $3,500 on arrival. These are the 4 most common traps documented in 2025–2026.
Some clinics advertise "hair transplant from £800 / $1,000" but apply a per-graft fee of $0.70–$1.50 for every graft above a limited count (typically 2,000). For a Norwood 4 patient needing 3,200 grafts, the supplement is $840–$1,800 — not mentioned until you arrive. This is the single most common hidden fee reported on forums like r/HairTransplants.
Some packages state "accommodation included" but specify in fine print "1 night only" or "3-star standard hotel". A hair transplant requires a minimum of 2 nights in Istanbul (D-1 for arrival, D0 for recovery). A 4-star Istanbul hotel costs £60–£100 per night / $80–$130 USD. Transfers are sometimes billed separately (£40–£70 / $50–$90). This is common in packages priced below £1,000.
This is the most medically serious trap and the one no low-cost clinic advertises. The named doctor appears for 20–30 minutes to sign paperwork. An unlicensed technician performs 90–95% of the extraction and implantation. The lower price directly reflects this delegation. The consequence: uneven implantation angles, an unnatural hairline, and in some cases graft survival rates below 80%.
The price looks complete, but once you land back in the UK or US, the clinic stops responding. Questions about shock loss (graft shedding at 3 weeks), crusting, scalp care and early regrowth — all left to you. Without structured follow-up, patients mismanage the post-op period, increasing the risk of infection, poor graft survival, and unnecessary anxiety.

The prices in this guide are the real confirmed tariffs we charge in 2026. I have chosen to publish the amounts actually paid by our patients — including UK and US patients who often come in disbelief at the difference — because price transparency is the most fundamental criterion of trust in our industry. If you have questions specific to your case, I respond personally on WhatsApp.
